SHERIDAN — A 3-0 defeat left the Sheridan girls soccer team again searching for answers Saturday in their final home contest of the regular season.
A heartbreaking 1-0 overtime defeat at the hands of Cheyenne Central Friday night preceded the 3-0 loss to Cheyenne East Saturday.
The Lady Broncs fell behind early when a cross was headed home in the 17th minute, and Sheridan never recovered.
Sheridan’s only two conference wins this season have come over Cheyenne South and Gillette, the two teams that will close their regular season this week.
The Lady Broncs remain in fourth place in 4A East standings ahead of those two teams entering this week, when they play a make-up game tonight as they meet South in Casper before traveling to Gillette Friday night.
Regionals are scheduled for May 9-11.
Broncs play to second consecutive 0-0 draw
SHERIDAN — There wasn’t much to speak of offensively for Sheridan in Cheyenne over the weekend.
After battling Cheyenne Central to a 0-0 draw Friday night, the Broncs left Cheyenne East High School with an identical result Saturday.
As a result, Laramie, who Sheridan beat 5-2 last weekend, replaced Sheridan in the No. 2 spot in 4A East conference standings.
Entering this weekend’s competition, Sheridan had beaten Laramie and Cheyenne South by a combined 9-3 score, but was unable to find the back of the net on the road.
Sheridan plays conference leader Gillette this Friday on the road, looking to regain their No. 2 spot before the regional tournament, set for May 9-11, with game locations to be announced after seeding.
