SHERIDAN — Sheridan College added a striker, a midfielder and a goalkeeper with their first three men’s soccer recruits.
The first-year program announced the addition of two South Dakota products along with an English player Friday morning.
Sheridan College head coach Austin Albers said he plans to fill four international scholarships, using the remaining ones to recruit players within the region.
“I am looking forward to seeing the type of impact Frazer will have in the American game,” Albers said. “After watching him on film, he clearly possesses the physical and mental tools to be successful.
“He has tremendous foot skill and will give us some size and speed in the front line.”
Ryan Couch is a 5’11” midfielder from Spearfish, S.D., and joins the Generals after AA First-Team All-State honors during his junior and senior seasons.
“He comes from a very competitive high school program with great coaching. He knows the game and will fit seamlessly into our system,” said Albers, who grew up and played soccer in Spearfish.
“Kory is a tremendous goalkeeper and knows how to lead a team,” Albers added. “One of the top goalkeepers to come out of South Dakota in recent years, Kory adds size and athleticism between the posts. He narrates the game and understands the role he will need to play in our system.”
The Sheridan College soccer program will hold it’s Soccer Preview Day Sunday afternoon on Maier Field at the college, where about 20 players will try out in front of SC coaches.
