LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — Marqueston Huff has been practicing at safety during spring camp.
The Wyoming senior has been a cornerback for his first three years. He has 122 tackles and has forced eight turnovers. He scored two defensive touchdowns in 2011, both on fumble returns.
Huff played the safety position in high school in Texarkana, Texas, where he was a two-time All-District player.
Huff tells the Wyoming Tribune Eagle that he has a knack for the safety position.
Coach Dave Christensen and defensive coordinator Chris Tormey have moved several players around on the defense this spring to find their best 11. This is another move to see if Huff can help the team the best at safety or corner — or perhaps both.
