WEATHER FROM OUR SPONSORS
I had just finished reading The Sheridan Press (April 11, 2013) that said the Tongue River High School here its prom at the Dayton Town Hall. Whoa! I said to myself. The picture looks like the state at the Dayton Community Hall.
For those of you who don’t know, the Dayton Town Hall is located on Broadway Street next to the Fire Hall. It is operated by the Town of Dayton to conduct small business. It does have a small meeting room, open to the public, in order to have small social gatherings; way too small for a high school prom.
The Dayton Community Hall is an elderly log building located on the corner of Third Avenue and Bridge Street. It was constructed during the Great Depression by the Workers Progress Administration to be used by the public for civic and entertainment purposes. It is owned and operated by the Dayton School Benefit Club, a local ladies club. The Dayton Community Hall is used for civic activities and is rented to the public for weddings, receptions and other private celebratory activities.
