Three Sheridan men compete in Ironman competition

SHERIDAN — Three Sheridan athletes finished the 2014 Ironman in Boulder, Colorado, over the weekend.

John Gaviotis, David Alden and Brock Boedecker all finished the race that includes a 2.4-mile swim, 112 miles biking, and a 26.2-mile run.

Alden was the fastest of the three, finishing in 12:39:52. Boedecker came in just above 13 hours at 13:01:32, and Gaviotis followed right behind him, finishing in 13:17:57.

All three racers were chasing Boulder’s Justin Daerr, who won the race with his time of 8:20:26.
