SHERIDAN — Both the boys and girls North squads took home a win at the Wyoming Coaches Association All-Star Game in Casper over the weekend.
While a big second quarter gave the girls North basketball team a 12-point halftime lead, the South came out firing in the third quarter. They outscored the North 26-11 in the quarter and took a 50-47 lead into the final quarter.
The North was able to bounce back to take a three-point victory over the South, 62-59.
Tongue River’s Sarah Rawlings finished scoreless and Arvada-Clearmont’s Shayna Kretschman scored nine.
There wasn’t much back-and-forth in the boys game, as the North used their 3-point shooting prowess to run away from the South.
The North buried 10 3-pointers in the first half to take a 51-36 halftime lead.
They added five more 3s in the second half on their way to an easy 95-73 victory.
Sheridan’s Reed Ritterbusch led the charge for the North, scoring a game-high 20 points.
