SHERIDAN — Saturday night before the final performance of the Sheridan WYO Rodeo, the 2015 WYO Rodeo Royalty were announced.
The young ladies were judged in three categories: horsemanship, personality and appearance. Horsemanship made up 50 percent of the points and the personality and appearance made up the other 50 percent. For the girls to even be considered for a Sheridan WYO Rodeo Royalty position they had to score at least 70 percent in each category.
Hannah Jost was named the 2015 Jr. Princess, Sage Koltiska the 2015 Princess, Alanna Starkovich the 2015 Sr. Princess and Bailey Van Leuven the 2015 Queen.
The Sheridan WYO Rodeo Royalty are representatives of Sheridan, advocates for the Sheridan WYO Rodeo, and spokeswomen for keeping Sheridan’s Western heritage alive. Throughout the year, the Sheridan WYO Rodeo Royalty are required to attend many events and rodeos in the Sheridan area and are encouraged to attend other events throughout the state. Among the events they may attend are Don King Days, Sheridan County Rodeo, Elks Youth Rodeo, The Sheridan Christmas Stroll, Sheridan College Rodeo, Sheridan High School Rodeo and Cody Stampede.
