WEATHER FROM OUR SPONSORS
SHERIDAN — If you were hanging around Kendrick Park around 1 p.m. Friday, you may have noticed a lot of ducks in Big Goose Creek, rubber ducks, that is.
The Kiwanis Club held their 26th annual duck race to help raise money for the club, whose mantra is, “young children are priority one.”
Ducks were purchased at $5 apiece, and then dumped into the creek with the winning duck’s owner taking home $500.
Duck number 173 out of 1,000 was the first to cross the finish line and 609 Consulting was the purchaser of that lucky duck, followed by Carol Troutt, who took home $200 with her second-place duck and Cory Hensford walked away with $100 extra in his pocket with his third-place duck.
