Dayton Town Council discusses one-cent optional projects

DAYTON — Dayton Town Council discussed a variety of projects it would like to support and complete if the optional one-cent sales tax is renewed in the election this fall at its regular meeting Monday.

Dayton Mayor Bob Wood said the roof above the locker room at the Tongue River Valley Community Center in Dayton needs to be repaired and will likely be included on the list for funding. The repairs are needed due to standard disrepair due to aging.  Also discussed for optional one-cent funds was continued river restoration on the Tongue River. Other items the council hopes to support include fire and rescue, the community center, social services, equipment purchases, parks and recreation and more.

In other business, the council made its standard end-of-year budget adjustments for fiscal year 2014.

The council also awarded the Yard of the Month for June to Sandy Perkins and Marty Kane at 55 Kelly Lane.
