SHERIDAN — Bill Baas, who celebrated his 73rd birthday on June 14, shot a one-under-his-age even par 72 on Saturday at the Powder Horn.
Baas became just the fourth Powder Horn member to shoot his age or better.
“It’s so much fun that I’m going to do it again,” Baas said.
Baas said he recently shot a 73 while he was still 72 and had come within two shots of doing it twice before.
Baas’ round was even more remarkable given the fact that he began his day with a double-bogey and a bogey on his first two holes of a round that included the Stag course followed by the Eagle course.
“I didn’t start thinking about it until after the turn,” Baas said.
Baas’ playing partners for the round were Gary Walsh and Bob Cross.
