SHERIDAN — The Sheridan Jets returned home from Gillette with two wins under their belts Thursday, topping the Rustlers 1-0 and 7-5 in the doubleheader.
“It is always nice to come back from Gillette with a couple of victories,” Jets coach Ryan Murner said. “We got two excellent efforts on the mound tonight.
“Nolan and Jeff both located well, pitched ahead in counts and had command of their off-speed,” Murner continued.
Jeff Shanor had seven strikeouts in his team’s 1-0 win while Blake King had the game-winning RBI in the top of the seventh, allowing Colten Williams to cross the plate.
In the Jets’ 7-5 win over the Rustlers, Noah Gustafson had four RBIs on three hits.
Murner said that key performances from his pitchers forced the defense to stay alert and make the plays behind the pitchers.
The Jets play Cody at home Sunday, with games beginning at 1 and 3 p.m.
