Strengthen skills at summer basketball camps

SHERIDAN — Summer is here, and outdoor adventures have begun. While family vacations and part-time summer jobs can keep student athletes busy, it is a good idea to include basketball camp in that busy schedule in order to maintain and hone skills for the coming basketball season. Girls’ basketball camp will be held 9 a.m. to noon June 16-19 at the Sheridan College Golden Dome. The camp will be hosted by the Sheridan Lady Generals. Camp classes are open to grades K-12 and will include skill development, shooting and fundamental instruction.  Camp cost is $100. Each camper will receive a basketball and T-shirt and will get to participate in 1-on-1, 3-on-3, and 5-on-5 competitions.

For more information call or email SC women’s head basketball coach Frank McCarthy at 674-6446, ext. 4001 or mccarthy@sheridan.edu.

Boys’ basketball day camp will run June from 8 a.m. to noon June 9-12 at the Sheridan College Golden Dome. It is open to grades K-10.

The camp costs $100 per person and includes a basketball, a camp shirt, motivational materials, a mental approach book and a written individual analysis of the camper’s play.

For more information contact SC men’s basketball head coach Steve Smiley at ssmiley@sheridan.edu or 674-6446, ext. 4000.
