SHERIDAN — The Sheridan Jets fell to the Billings Cardinals 13-7 and 7-4 in a double-header at Thorne-Rider Park Stadium Saturday.
The Jets played a better second game, leading in the fifth inning 4-2. Unfortunately, the Jets could not get any runs into home plate the sixth and seventh innings.
“We had many improvements, especially in game two,” head coach Ryan Murner said. “I thought we competed in both games, but the small details hurt us. We had many opportunities that we did not capitalize offensively and gave up runs that they didn’t have to earn.”
Noah Gustafson had an RBI for the Jets, and his teammate Andrew Ratty had two RBI’s in game two.
“I believe the team is learning the recipe of playing good baseball,” Murner said. “Now we have to go out and execute.”
The Jets play in Billings June 1 against Spearfish, South Dakota, and the Billings Angels.
