WEATHER FROM OUR SPONSORS
SHERIDAN — Keeping his spurs above the bronc’s shoulders on the first jump is a skill that has been honed by Sheridan bronc rider Jeffery Zdziarski.
It was that skill that helped Zdziarski win the bareback bronc riding events at the Sheridan High School Rodeo performances Sunday and Monday.
The Sheridan High School rodeo team hosted their rodeo for the season over Memorial Day weekend at the Sheridan County Fairgrounds. The rodeo team had a long weekend as team members competed in Buffalo on Saturday then returned to Sheridan for two more days of competition in the hot sun.
“It feels good to win,” Zdziarski said. “It’s pretty neat to win your senior year at your hometown rodeo.”
Zdziarski is sitting at the top for bareback in the state and has one more rodeo next weekend in Douglas before he heads to state June 11-14. He said he is planning on getting healed up after a long weekend riding broncs and hopes to stay healthy to win the state title.
The results from the rodeo this weekend will be posted later this week at wyhsra.org/rodeo.
