SHS girls soccer finishes fourth

SHERIDAN — The Sheridan Lady Broncs took fourth at regionals in Gillette on Saturday, earning the spot in a tough loss to the Laramie Plainsmen 0-2.

“We had some players that were banged up and that did not help us in the game,” SHS coach Mallery Marshall said. “Laramie came out strong and we just didn’t play our best game.”

Laramie was able to score their first goal with six seconds left to go in the first half, but the Lady Broncs couldn’t get past Laramie’s defense.

The Lady Broncs will head to state this week. Their first game will be against Kelly Walsh on Thursday at 9 a.m.

“Kelly Walsh is a good team that is very fast,” Marshall said. “Our defense needs to make smart decisions in the game with Kelly Walsh being fast. If our defense is there, they can keep Kelly Walsh from capitalizing on their speed.”
