Lady Broncs fall at regionals, will play for third place Sat.

SHERIDAN — The Sheridan Lady Broncs lost, 3-1, to Cheyenne East in the 4A East Regionals at Gillette on Friday.

The Lady Broncs had several opportunities to score in the first half, but hit the post twice.

The lone Lady Bronc score came from Marissa Johansson, who took advantage of a penalty kick in the second half.

Coach Mallery Marshall said the Lady Broncs had some lapses on defense and gave up two goals late in the second half.

“To beat the top team, you have to  capitalize on the opportunities you get and we didn’t do that,” Marshall said.

The Lady Broncs face Laramie today at 10 a.m to determine third and fourth seed.

Last time the two faced each other, the Lady Broncs was able to end the game with a tie after going into overtime.
