SHERIDAN — Some Big Horn and Tongue River golfers had their best tournaments to date in Hulett on Monday.
Tongue River’s Riley Jones shot a personal best of 113. Big Horn’s Kaleigh Anderson shot a personal best of 90, finishing third, while her teammate Hanneah Puckett shot a 118, earning her own personal record.
“The golf course at Devil’s Tower is a beautiful and challenging course,” Tongue River coach Pete Kilbride said. “It really rewards you if you hit straight, but if you don’t, it will really punish you.”
Kylee Knobloch of Tongue River continued her streak of placing in every tournament this season. She placed 10th with a 102.
The Tongue River boys team ended up seventh on the day.
Big Horn’s Nick McAdoo shot an 89 Monday, finishing in sixth place while his teammate Ethyn Etchechoury was able to slide into ninth place with a personal best of 91.
Jamie Kitterman shot a 95, finishing in fifth place for Big Horn.
The Big Horn teams finished third at the meet.
“We are getting closer to that second place,” Big Horn golf coach Mila Stender said. “The team scores continue to drop and I am happy for them.”
The teams will travel to Lusk on Saturday for their last meet before conference.
