SHERIDAN — The Big Horn boys and girls golf teams fared well in Wright on Saturday, placing second and third respectively.
The Tongue River boys also had a strong showing. They team had set a goal to shoot 400 and barely missed it, shooting three over for a 403. This put them third at the tournament.
Big Horn’s Jack Roberts shot an 83 and Nick McAdoo shot an 85. Jamie Kitterman shot a 91 for Big Horn.
“I’m pleased with how well they did,” Big Horn assistant coach Mike Daley said. “They didn’t have much time to warm up, so the scores they made, they did great for not warming up.”
Rydge Collins and Ian Ostler were first-time golfers for Tongue River. Collins shot a 108 and Ostler finished right behind him with a 109.
Kylee Knobloch shot a 103 securing sixth place.
“This is huge improvements for both Ian and Rydge,” Tongue River golf coach Pete Kilbride said. “They did a good job at Wright.”
Big Horn and Tongue River head to Hulett today to play in the Devil’s Tower Invite. Sheridan will host their golf tournament Friday at Kendrick golf course.
