Lady Broncs win 3-0

SHERIDAN — Sheridan High School girls soccer didn’t play great Friday, but they still got the win 3-0 against Cheyenne Central.

“I would say it was not our strongest game, but a win is a win and good teams are still able to win even when they don’t play their best game,” Head Coach Mallery Marshall said.

The biggest trouble the team had was finding rhythm and a way to possess the ball, Marshall said.

“But like I said, good teams find a way even when they can’t play to the style or level they want. They did that and we’re proud of their ability to finish,” Marshall said.

Kirsten Hendricks, Robbi Ryan and Jannae Fieldgrove each scored a goal. Marshall said each goal was on a breakaway where the girls were able to take advantage of Cheyenne’s defense with speed, get away and finish the play with a goal.

“We worked on finishing a lot this week, so it’s good to see them do what they learned in practice and apply it in a game,” Marshall said. “Our offense showed up, but not necessarily our defense or mid-field. However, the weather was beautiful, and that was nice.”

The SHS girls will play at noon against Cheyenne East in Cheyenne. East is ranked number one in the state right now.

Sheridan is currently ranked fourth.

They will face Gillette next week before regionals.
