SHERIDAN — This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War and as part of a weeklong series of events commemorating the occasion Infinite Variety Productions of New York will present a performance of “A Piece of My Heart,” a play recounting the true story of six women who served in the war, in Sheridan.
The play will be presented April 16 at 7 p.m. at the WYO Theater.
Written by award-winning playwright Shirley Laurospans, “A Piece of My Heart” spans 40 years of the characters’ lives from how they got involved in the war to how it affected them later in life.
Special guest Diane Carlson Evans, the Founder of the Vietnam Women’s Memorial Foundation, will conduct a question and answer session after the performance.
Tickets to the performance are $5 and all proceeds will benefit the Sheridan College Veteran’s Services program. For more information call Melissa Butcher at 751-3789 or see www.infinitevarietynyc.com.
