Annual conference of Mountain Desert District this week

SHERIDAN — The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Sheridan is hosting their annual conference of the Mountain Desert District of the UU Association on Friday and Saturday.

Unitarian Universalism is a non-doctrinaire religion promoting reason, spirituality and social justice.

The theme of the convention is “Compassionate Communication” and is open to the entire community.

The conference will be held at the First Christian Church at 102 Connor St.

On Friday, registration opens at 6 p.m. and the keynote speakers, Gregory Rouillard and Jared Finkelstein, will present during a worship and social from 7-9:30.

On Saturday, registration is open from 8-8:45 a.m. and will be followed by a series of workshops until the MDD business meeting at 4:15 p.m. when the conference is adjourned.
