Ryan, Julian each knock in two goals for the Lady Broncs

SHERIDAN — The Sheridan Lady Broncs soccer team started off their 2014 season on Friday against the Riverton Wolverines and didn’t let the spring snow storm from Mother Nature keep them from winning. The girls defeated Riverton 4-0.

With just two weeks of practice under their belts, the Lady Broncs fought hard in their first game.

“We went into the game setting the rhythm,” coach Mallery Marshall said. “This game helped get the kinks out of their system and learn how to work together.”

Robbi Ryan scored the first goal for the Lady Broncs 20 minutes into the game and her team was able to keep the ball down at the Wolverines goal for most of the first half. Leading into halftime Emily Julian knocked in another point, giving the Lady Broncs a 2-0 lead.

Ryan almost scored again in the second half, but the Wolverines were able to stop her passing the ball up the field. Emily Julian stole the ball and sent it sailing into the back of the net.

“The team played smart and started the season off right,” Marshall said. “I look forward to this season, the team is beginning to come together.”

Ryan and Julian each scored two goals giving the Lady Broncs the 4-0 win.

The Lady Broncs will continue their season tomorrow at the Jamboree in Casper.
