SHERIDAN — The Sheridan Dog and Cat Shelter has hired Debi Crawford as its new executive director.
Crawford was most recently the manager of City Bark, a New Orleans dog park overseen by the city. From 2008 to 2012, she worked at the Campbell County School District science center in Gillette. Crawford will replace Cel Hope, who is retiring April 2 after nine years as director.
“Cel has done so many wonderful things for the shelter and has been a huge asset,” shelter board member Cassie Morss said. “We are sad to see her retire. But we welcome Debi to the shelter and are excited to see everything she has to offer and where we can go from here.”
Crawford has begun training at the shelter with Hope and will take over full director responsibilities in early April. A retirement party for Hope will be held Saturday, April 5 at the Downtown Sheridan Association from 4:30-6:30 p.m. The public is welcome to attend.
