DAYTON — The Tongue River Eagles defeated Moorcroft in a close, loser-out game Friday morning at the 2A boys regional tournament. The Eagles earned the victory by just four points, 55-51, according to wyopreps.com.
Eagles coach Robert Griffin said Matt Yellowtail played hard Friday night.
“He really lifted up and got ahead of a tough opponent and I’m very proud of him,” Griffin said.
He added that Lane Dockery also had a big night, putting up 13 points.
Griffin continued by saying Austen Scammon played well inside and Matt Burchell fought hard.
“Our seniors just had their best game of the year,” he said.
The Eagles will face Pine Bluffs at 10:30 a.m. today in a loser-out game. The winner of the game will secure a spot at the state tournament next weekend.
The Big Horn Rams defeated Pine Bluffs 47-43 and will play for the regional title against Lusk today at 5:30 p.m.
