Lady Eagles beat Greybull 52-30
SHERIDAN — The Tongue River High School Lady Eagles played all nine girls Friday night against Greybull and came out with the win 52-30.
The Lady Eagles are at 19-2 overall.
“We had a comfortable lead at halftime, 27-10, and played all nine girls tonight. We got everybody in the game,” head Coach Diane Moser said.
Tara Stimpson hit three 3-pointers and scored the high of 15 points in the game. Erin Aksamit shot for 14, and Sarah Rawlins and Amanda Buller each sank the ball for nine.
“We had balanced scoring. We outscored them in the third, 12-6,” Moser said. The Lady Eagles will play their final game of the regular season today at home against Sundance. Junior varsity play at 1 p.m., and varsity girls play at 2:30 p.m. The boys team will play at 4 p.m. at Tongue River High School.
“Regionals are in Cheyenne next week. We’re just fine tuning and ending our season on a good note tomorrow,” Moser said.
TRHS Eagles fall to Greybull 72-39
SHERIDAN — TRHS boys basketball lost to the No. 3 ranked Greybull Buffaloes Friday 72-39.
Head Coach Robert Griffin said he had his team play it safe so that they would be ready to face Sundance at home today.
“We played our starter minutes short for a variety of guys because we have a bigger game tomorrow, but they probably would have gotten us anyway,” Griffin said.
Wyatt Schumacher, Chase Linhart and Lane Dockery each shot seven points in the game.
Today, the Eagles will face Sundance on their home court in Dayton at 4 p.m.
“They’re a big and physical team, so we want to try to keep up with them, but it will be a hard match for us,” Griffin said.
