SHERIDAN — The Wyoming Artist Blacksmiths will host a Winter Forge-In, an event intended to expose the public to the art of blacksmithing.
The event is open to all, including beginners, and will be held Feb. 28 through March 2.
The key presenter will be Mark Constable, a blacksmith visiting from Humberside, England, for this event.
Activities on Feb. 28 and March 1 will include a demonstration and lecture by Constable from 9 a.m. to noon and again from 1-5 p.m. The itinerary for March 1 also includes the WAB annual business meeting from 5-5:30 p.m. The weekend will conclude March 2 following the 9 a.m. to noon lecture.
The cost to attend is $40 per person until Feb. 15 and $50 per person for persons registering after Feb. 15 or at the door.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be served daily and donations to cover the cost of food will be accepted at each individual meal as the cost of food is not included in the registration fee.
All events will be held at the shop located at 849 Leopard St.
All participants will be required to wear eye protection at all times. Attendees are asked to wear fire resistant clothing such as wool or cotton and not fleece or nylon.
Everyone attending blacksmithing classes, conferences, demonstration or entering a shop for any reason will be asked to sign a waiver.
