SHERIDAN — A staged reading of a new play by a local resident will be presented at the Sheridan County Fulmer Public Library on Jan. 19.
“My Home is a Borderland” was written by 2006 Sheridan High School graduate Grace Cannon.
The play will be presented at 1:30 p.m. in the Inner Circle.
Admission is free and open to all.
The reading will last around two hours and a discussion of the script will be offered afterward.
Cannon spent a year in Berlin, Germany, on a Fulbright Scholarship to study the German enthusiasm for the American West in literature, film, music and recreation.
The play is an imaginative documentary based on Cannon’s experiences traveling the Wild West clubs throughout Germany and the autobiographical writings of German author Karl May, who wrote several popular adventure tales set on the American Western Frontier of the 1800s for the German audience.
For more information contact Cannon at 461-0262.
The library is located at 335 W. Alger St.
