SHERIDAN — The Sheridan College Generals got their third win in the new year, moving to 15-3 and 3-1 in North Sub-Region IX play with a 93-73 win at Dawson Community College Wednesday night in Glendive, Mont.
Jamir Andrews scored 20 points, Fred Dure added 18 and Abednego Lufile chipped in 11 points and nine rebounds as Sheridan earned the road win and avoided a letdown after an overtime win Saturday night against Casper.
Sheridan was 11-27 from 3-point land, with Dawson hitting five of 17. The Generals hit 14-25 from the free throw line and were 34-67 (50 percent) from the field. They outrebounded Dawson 51-38.
Sheridan plays Northwest (11-6, 1-3) Saturday at 5 p.m. at the Golden Dome. The Trappers lost to Casper, 84-70, Wednesday.
Sheridan’s 15 wins are the most across both divisions of Region IX.
Dawson 60, Lady Generals 45
The Lady Generals (11-6, 1-3) were clipped by Dawson Wednesday, shooting just 25 percent from the field in the first half on the way to a season-low offensive output in a 60-45 defeat.
“One of those nights,” head coach Frank McCarthy said. “But we will learn from the game and get better.”
Just one Lady General, Madison Forney, scored in double figures with 11. Josie Three Irons had seven points.
The Lady Generals play Northwest College Saturday at 3 p.m. The Lady Trappers are off to a 4-0 conference start after beating Casper 58-57 last night.
