WEATHER FROM OUR SPONSORS
SHERIDAN — The Sheridan County YMCA Activity and Support Center will offer two programs starting new sessions in January, LIVESTRONG at the YMCA and Y Personal Fitness.
The ASC offers small-group exercise programs specifically designed for those looking for a welcoming and supportive environment separate from the main weight room and cardio center.
Trained staff assist and guide individuals in their health and well-being goals.
LIVESTRONG at the YMCA will begin Jan. 14 and continue through April 3.
Participants will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:30 a.m. to noon.
The free program helps members of the community who are currently in treatment for cancer or who have had cancer in the past.
The program provides motivation for cancer survivors to reclaim or gain their health with exercise and also helps them foster relationships with others in similar situations.
Call Patty Cox at 674-7488 for more information.
Y Personal Fitness is also a free program and is available to beginner exercisers or inactive people looking to get back in to an exercise routine.
This program enhances the participants’ confidence and commitment to activity, while also focusing on the intrinsic benefits of movement.
Each class is limited to 12 participants to allow for individual guidance from the instructor.
A new session will begin Jan. 7 and run for 12 weeks.
Classes will be offered at 9:30 a.m., 12:15 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
Interested persons may sign up at the YMCA Front Desk.
The YMCA is located at 417 N. Jefferson St.
