SHERIDAN — D.G. Reardon, President of the Campbell County Economic Development Agency, announced recently that Philippe Chino, executive director of CCEDC will retire in January after serving as director since 2009.
Prior to moving to Gillette, Chino worked as the executive director of Forward Sheridan.
Chino has worked in the economic development profession for 25 years with assignments in Virginia, Arizona and Wyoming.
Under Chino’s leadership, CCEDC has been involved with a number of initiatives, including development of a five-year economic development strategic plan in 2010.
Chino indicated his philosophy is to stay in executive positions for no more than five years, which allows economic development organizations to evolve, bringing in new leadership, new ideas, and giving new board members the opportunity to choose their executive staff.
Chino has decided to retire in Wyoming and spend time in Phoenix, Ariz.
CCEDC will initiate a search for a new executive director.
CCEDC is funded by public and private investors and managed by a board of directors.
