SHERIDAN — The Sheridan boys finished second Friday at the Worland tournament, shooting a 333, three strokes behind team champion Gillette.
Jack Mavrakis led the way for the Broncs firing a 73, which was good enough for second. Mavrakis finished two strokes behind Danny Davis of Gillette.
“It was our best finish of the spring and we beat teams we lost to in the fall,” said Sheridan coach Larry Martoglio, who was out of town for the weekend and turned coaching duties over to assistant Jim Friesen. “I am very proud of their performance.”
On the girls side, the Lady Broncs finished fifth with a team score of 321. Hillary Lindell tied for fourth place with a 94. Madison Farr and Katie Beardslee shot a 112 and 115 respectively.
Weather permitting, the Broncs and Lady Broncs will be at home Friday at Kendrick Golf Course hosting the Sheridan Invitational.
The JV team will play in a tournament Saturday at the Powder Horn.
