SHERIDAN — The Sheridan County public libraries will be offering “Food for Fines” amnesty week from Sunday through Dec. 14.
Library users who have outstanding fines or those with long overdue items can return their materials and have up to $2 in fines forgiven for each food item donated.
All four library locations are participating.
The program is only applicable to overdue fines and will not be applied toward damaged materials, replacement cards or other costs.
Donated food will be distributed to local food banks in Sheridan and Story.
