WEATHER FROM OUR SPONSORS
SHERIDAN — The Sheridan Police Department has received a $1,500 “Local Community Contribution” grant from Walmart which will be used toward the third annual “Cops for Kids” program.
The program offers deserving children in the community a holiday shopping spree.
More than 30 children identified by local social service professionals will be shopping Dec. 14 at 8 a.m.
The Walmart Subway will also be providing the children with breakfast.
Officers from many local Sheridan law enforcement agencies will be assisting each child individually.
The program hopes to offer positive interactions between the officers and children who may grow up with an innate fear of officers due to circumstances beyond their control.
For more information contact the Sheridan Police Department at 672-2413.
