Wheeler to retire at end of school year

SHRIDAN — Dirlene Wheeler, principal at Sheridan High School, will retire from her position at the end of the 2013-2014 school year.

Wheeler came to SCSD 2 specifically to assume an administrative position with the district. She served as assistant principal at SHS for three years before assuming the principal position 14 years ago. She had previously been a science teacher in Nebraska for 18 years.

Wheeler will continue as principal through summer school and her last day in the office will be June 30.
