SHERIDAN — The Sheridan College Lady Generals dropped both games over the weekend, playing at North Idaho College in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
Friday, Sheridan fell to LCB 78-77. Samirah Dennis, Josie Three Irons and Sierra Toms each scored 13 points. The Lady Generals trailed 42-36 at the half. They outrebounded LCB 46-39, but LCB hit 11 3-pointers.
On Saturday, they were defeated 76-57 by No. 13-ranked North Idaho College. After trailing just 35-33 at the break, they were outscored 41-24 in the second half. North Idaho scored 27 points off Sheridan turnovers.
Head coach Frank McCarthy said that they would have liked to get a win, but the competition was good and he expects his team to get better from the road experience.
Toms was the only Lady General to break into double figures Saturday, scoring 16 points, hitting 10/11 free throws.
No. 13 CSI 104, No. 21 Sheridan College 99
The Sheridan College Generals basketball team lost Saturday night, falling for the second time this season.
Playing at the College of Southern Idaho, after escaping with an 88-86 overtime win over Treasure Valley Friday, the No. 21 Generals (8-2) fell to No. 13 CSI, 104-99. Trailing 46-43 at halftime, Sheridan was within four points with two minutes remaining, but fell by five.
The Generals (8-2) were yet again led by Fred Dure, who scored 25 points adding six rebounds and four assists. Josh Adeyeye starred again as well, scoring 22 and bringing down nine boards.
Jamir Andrews scored 12 points, Iakeem Alston had 11, six assists and four steals and Kaileb Rodriguez had 10 points.
It’s a busy holiday week for the SC basketball program. Sheridan plays three games, beginning with a women’s and men’s doubleheader at 5 and 7 p.m., Wednesday against Colorado Northwestern.
The annual Lion’s Club Tournament is Friday and Saturday, with women’s games at 5 and men’s games at 7. The men play Dakota College out of N.D., Friday then Laramie County Community College Saturday.
