SHERIDAN — Scott Hininger, a 26-year educator in Sheridan County, has received what the University of Wyoming Extension calls its highest honor, the Excellence in Extension Award.
The award is given to those who demonstrate a high level of professional performance and leadership within their program area and community.
The extension administrator received the award Nov. 6 during the organization’s training conference in Casper.
Hininger received his bachelor’s degree in agricultural education and his master’s degree in agricultural economics from Oklahoma State University.
He joined UW Extension in 1987 and specializes in agricultural economics, horticulture and range monitoring.
His nomination stated he is a respected horticultural resource, has a strong rapport with his clientele and agricultural groups and has applied his expertise in town beautification projects.
