Lady Generals roll through first round at Region IX tournament

SHERIDAN — The Sheridan College volleyball team swept Central Wyoming College Tuesday in the first round of the Region IX tournament at Torrington as they moved to 20-14 overall.

Winning (25-14, 32-30, 25-14), Sheridan broke the 20-win mark on the year.
The Lady Generals now play Western Wyoming at 4 p.m. today.

Western was the top seed at this year’s tournament, posting a 28-4 overall mark this season and going unbeaten, 12-0, in Region IX North play.

The winner of today’s game gets the winner of Casper College-Northwest College on Friday.
The Region IX tournament is single elimination format.

Leaders: Tyler Chrisman 10 kills, 1 solo block, 4 assisted blocks, 6 digs; Hannah Jernigan 8 kills, 8 assisted blocks; Jill Espeland 22 digs, 1 ace.
