SHERIDAN — Sheridan’s Child Development Center Region 2 Preschool has been reaccredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
To receive accreditation, a facility must meet at least 80 percent of the NAEYC’s 10 Early Childhood Program Standards, which include advancement of children’s learning and development, qualifications and knowledge of staff, relevant community partnerships, the program’s physical environment and leadership and management provided by the administration.
The facility was visited in September by evaluators from NAEYC who observed programs and inspected the premises.
“We’re very excited that we’ve accomplished reaccreditation with NAEYC,” said Mandy Dube, preschool coordinator at CDC. “All of our classrooms scored 91 percent or higher during our observations which is a testament to the hard work our teachers put into planning for the development of each child.”
The CDC is the first and only early childhood center in Sheridan to earn such accreditation.
