SHERIDAN –– The Sheridan County Historical Society will host their annual meeting tonight at the Downtown Sheridan Association’s Community Room at 7 p.m.
The meeting will include a presentation by Lois Hall titled “Blazing Trails with Grandma.” Hall will tell about the life of her grandmother, Clarissa Pattengill Huson, who lived through the Civil War, came west with her husband Doc Huson, raised a large family, and in the 1890s, helped establish the town of Huson near Clearmont.
During the meeting, there will also be an election of board members. Carol Watkins, Sonja Roberts, Linda Grosso and Felicia Kirven are all running unopposed. Nominations will also be taken from the floor.
Various items from the Museum Mercantile will be for sale, refreshments will be available, and a 50/50 drawing will be held.
The board will also introduce its new museum director, Dr. Ben Hruska.
The meeting is free and open to the public.
