SHERIDAN — Sheridan Orthopaedic Associates purchased a new MRI machine that can produce higher quality medical images in less time than the facility’s previous machine.
The equipment upgrade also entails new computer software.
A press release from Operations Manager Greg Lagorio classifies the new machine as a significant upgrade to the MRI facility.
“The new…software and hardware platform reflects Sheridan Orthopaedic’s commitment to excellence in orthopedic health care by providing superior imaging capabilities,” Lagorio said.
“The beauty of this upgrade is that our scan times shave been reduced, increasing our patients’ comfort,” Radiologic Technologist Linda Groce said. “To complement the comfort of shorter scan times we have added a digital sound system that our patients may choose at their discretion.”
MRI machines provide diagnostic images that usually have more detail than X-rays, ultrasound imaging or CT scans.
