Military appreciation event at Friday’s SHS-Natrona game

SHERIDAN — Friday night’s Sheridan High School football game will feature a military appreciation event.

Past and present military members get into the game free, and there will be a ceremony at halftime where they will be invited onto the field to be recognized.

A bus will run to the VA Medical Center, bringing those who wish to attend to the game. Broncs head coach Don Julian said they hope to make this an annual event.

Friday’s game is also the annual breast cancer awareness night at SHS, and T-shirts are being sold at the school again this year.

The Broncs (6-1) and Mustangs (4-3) play at 7 p.m., Friday night on Scott Field.
Next week, during the Broncs final home game of 2013, there will be a state championship anniversary ceremony at halftime of the game.

The Broncs close the regular season Fri. Oct. 25 against Cheyenne South, and Sheridan state championship teams from 1923, 1953 and 1993 will be recognized.

Julian said they realize that there aren’t likely any living members from the 1923 team, but that family members of those players are invited to attend. Members of the state title teams are encouraged to come to the game, as they will be recognized at halftime.
