SHERIDAN — The Sheridan High School volleyball team fell at Cheyenne South Saturday afternoon.
South won the full five-set match (25-18, 20-25, 25-20, 21-25, 15-10).
For the South Lady Bison, it was their first ever victory in a 4A East conference game. Sheridan dropped to 7-16 and 2-5 in 4A East play.
“South played to win the games, we played not to lose,” SHS head coach Wendi Ruby said. “We made a lot of errors on our side of the net, and it gave South some easy points. I was happy to see us play together, but the girls hesitated a bit and didn’t play as aggressive as I would have liked.”
Ruby hoped that the team would gain momentum this weekend as they close the regular season with games Friday night against Cheyenne Central and Saturday afternoon against Cheyenne East.
“We are going to focus this week on pushing through errors and limiting the errors we make on our side of the net, as well as focusing on competing and being aggressive all the time,” she said.
Tongue River 3, Moorcroft 0 (25-10, 25-12, 25-11). Up next: The Lady Eagles host the Big Horn Lady Rams Thursday night; Big Horn 3, Thermopolis 2 (21-25, 25-19, 25-15, 20-25, 15-9). Up next: The Lady Rams host Wright Tuesday night in a make-up game from Oct. 4.
