Swimmers 5th to close regular season at Gillette Invite

SHERIDAN — The Lady Bronc swimmers were fifth out of the 18-team field in Saturday’s Gillette Invite.

The Lady Broncs 200-yard medley relay team won another event, swimming a 1:57.91.
Emily Spiegelberg won the 100-yard backstroke, swimming a 1:04.18.

Payton Brilz was second in the 200-freestyle (2:03.12). Mackenzie Dougherty was fourth in the 200-yard individual medley (2:27.05). Sheridan’s top diver was Whitney Migrants, who took ninth (298.40).

Sisters Gretchen and Mackenzie Dougherty took fourth and fifth respectively in the 100-yard butterfly (1:05.72, 1:06.87). Gretchen Douhgerty took third in the 100-yard breaststroke.

Brilz placed fourth in the 500-yard freestyle event in Gillette (5:42.08).
Host school Campbell County won the invite.

The Lady Broncs compete in the two-day conference meet Thursday and Friday at Kelly Walsh High School. The state swim meet is set for Nov. 1-2 in Gillette.
