SHERIDAN — The Sheridan College wind and jazz ensembles will perform a free public concert Sunday at 7 p.m. at the Big Horn High School auditorium.
The ensembles are under the direction of Dr. Michael P. Flynn.
At 6 p.m., Flynn will discuss the works to be performed by the ensembles.
The jazz ensemble will offer six selections including the Gordon Goodwin Big Phat Band arrangement of “Act Your Age,” George Gershwin’s, “’S Wonderful,” Irish folk tunes and the Buddy Rich big band hit “Big Mama Cass.”
Following a brief intermission, the wind ensemble will perform three works: “When Spirits Soar” by Brian Balmages, “First Suite in E flat for Military Band” by Gustav Holst and “Anchor and Star March” by John Philip Sousa.
Flynn holds the section trumpet job with the Billings Symphony Orchestra and the auxiliary trumpet position for the Wyoming Symphony Orchestra, Cheyenne Symphony, Bozeman Symphony Orchestra and the Casper Brass.
