SHERIDAN — The WYO Theater will hold its annual gala fundraising event Oct. 19 with a presentation of “Cabaret.”
The Tony Award-winning musical is set in 1930s Berlin. An English nightclub singer, an American writer, a German landlady and a Jewish shopkeeper find their destinies linked and their futures uncertain as the rise of the Nazi party casts a shadow over Germany during the waning days of the Weimar Republic.
“Cabaret” features thrilling songs, evocative dance numbers and a chilling storyline.
Presiding over the action is the emcee who acts as master of ceremonies. He bids you to “leave your troubles outside” and step into the deliciously decadent world of “Cabaret.”
Doors open at 6 p.m. for a reception preceeding the performance. Tickets for the gala are $100 per person and can be purchased by calling 672-9084, at the WYO Theater at 42 N. Main St. or online at www.wyotheater.com.
Profits from this event support theater operations for the upcoming season.
Additional performances of Cabaret will be Oct 24-27.
