SHERIDAN — As part of Fire Prevention Week, Sheridan Fire-Rescue Department is hosting an open house Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 151 S. Scott St.
“Prevent Cooking Fires!” is the theme for this year’s Fire Prevention Week. Cooking fires are the number one cause of home fires.
Activities include fire station tours, a Junior Firefighter Combat Challenge, a live side-by-side burn demonstration that shows the effectiveness of residential fire sprinklers, fire truck rides and kitchen safety tips.
Complimentary soft drinks, cookies and popcorn will be available.
Domino’s pizza will be sold for $2 per slice.
Proceeds from the sale of pizza will go to the Sheridan Firefighter’s Statue Fund to create a sculpture in honor of former fire department Capt. Ed Green.
For more information call Sheridan Fire-Rescue at 674-7244.
