SHERIDAN — While area residents are hunkering down for the forecasted winter storm, The Sheridan Press is gearing up for the FAB Women’s Conference set to begin at noon Friday.
The events will kick off with a luncheon with speaker Brig. Gen. Kathy Wright, the first female general in the Wyoming National Guard, and continue with a screening of the film “Miss Representation.”
The keynote speaker for the Woman of the Year awards banquet Friday night will feature a cartoonist with The New Yorker Magazine, Liza Donnelly. A recognition of all nominees for the Woman of the Year award will also be featured Friday night.
Catering for the lunch will be provided by Qdoba Mexican Grill and the dinner Friday night will feature cuisine from Killy’s Smokehouse and Deli with desserts from Sheridan Memorial Hospital’s Big Horn Mountain Catering.
Lunch Saturday will be provided by Volunteers of America’s Catering for a Cause and will feature Red Ants Pants founder and owner Sarah Calhoun.
Tickets for the event are still available and special promotional prices are available for students and any employees of the local school districts or Sheridan College. Five scholarships are also still available thanks to individual donors and the sponsorship of the Homer A. and Mildred S. Scott Foundation.
Tickets for the event can also be purchased at the door Friday or Saturday.
