SHERIDAN — Sheridan Community Land Trust will host it’s third annaul Biketober Fest Oct. 12.
There are three routes to run, bike or walk.
A 5K route follows the perimeter of the Hidden Bridge Golf Club course. It is a mix of gravel paths and grass and is suitable for running, biking or walking.
The 15K trail run and the 25K mountain bike race both highlight SCLT’s Soldier Ridge Trail. These routes are a mix of gravel, dirt and pavement.
None of these courses are suitable for strollers or bike trailers.
Prizes will be awarded to the top two male and female finishers in each race.
The first race begins at 3 p.m. and all races start and finish at the Sheridan County Fairgrounds exhibit hall.
The registration fee is $40 or $50, depending on which race you enter. Registration includes a free T-shirt.
Participants and the public are invited to a party from 5-9 p.m. The party will feature live music by The Craft Brothers, a kids’ bike rodeo, raffles, pizza and beer. This party is free.
Last year’s profits from Biketober Fest went to build the four-mile Soldier Ridge Trail.
SCLT is now working to create over nine miles of community trails and new public access to recreation in Sheridan County. All proceeds from this event will benefit these projects.
Contact Claire Hobbes at 673-4702 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information and to register. You can also register at www.biketoberfest.weebly.com.
