SHERIDAN — The Sheridan College basketball programs began practice this week, and there will be booster club luncheon Oct. 8 at the Holiday Inn.
Coaches from the various Generals sports including basketball, rodeo, volleyball and soccer, as well as college president Dr. Paul Young will talk about the state of their athletics programs.
The lunch is set for noon on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at the Holiday Inn Geneva Room, and is free, but attendees should RSVP with SC Athletic Director and men’s basketball coach Steve Smiley. Call 674-6446 ext. 4000. Additionally, the SC men’s basketball program announced its “3pt club” fundraiser is underway again. Members get access to the Generals through things like live web streams of games, reminders for upcoming contests and a free T-shirt.
“Funds are used in several areas to help our team with gear, equipment, etc. and it really helps to make a difference,” Smiley said. Contact Smiley for further details.
The Generals open the season at a Jamboree in Casper Oct. 11 and 12. Their first home game will be an exhibition with Medicine Hat U (Canada) at 6 p.m. Oct. 18 at the Bruce Hoffman Golden Dome. For the Lady Generals, they’ll begin play with a Sheridan College Jamboree Oct. 12 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Golden Dome.
Also this year, the Dome will be the site of a University of Wyoming Cowgirls game. The Cowgirls play Montana State-Northern at 5 p.m., Nov. 8 in Sheridan.
