Big Horn golfers second at Lusk Invite
SHERIDAN — Big Horn golf teams fin- ished second in Lusk Saturday as they prep for their state tournament this week.
The girls’ 343 Saturday left them behind Lusk and their 288. The Rams shot 394 Saturday, trailing Wright’s 361.
Head coach Mila Stender was pleased with her team’s strong play at the right time of year.
“For state the key will be to focus on one shot at a time…and only that one shot,” she said. “If we can continue to show improve- ments individually like the kids have in the last two weeks we should do really well as teams at state. We all have to put two consis- tent days together at Devil’s Tower.”
The tournament begins Friday in Hulett.
Girls: Kaleigh Anderson, 102 for fifth; Jamie Kitterman 120 for eighth; Taylor Nance 121 for ninth; Madi pehringer 123.
Boys: Nick McAdoo 96; Matt Hansen, 94; Jack Roberts 106; Brody Bard 99; and Ty LaMeres 105.
Sheridan golfers seventh at conference tournament in Casper
SHERIDAN — The Sheridan Broncs finished seventh Friday in Casper.
Jack Mavrakis finished tied for 10th dur- ing the 4A conference meet Thursday and Friday, with the Broncs shooting a two day 687. Kelly Walsh won the tournament with a 592.
For the Lady Broncs Victoria Owings shot 105-107—112, and Kayla Allen shot 96-104— 200.
The team heads to Rock Springs Thursday for the three-day state tournament.
